Paralia Katerini

Katerini Beach is a tourist coastal destination in the eastern part of Pieria in Northern Greece. A famous resort with a strong Mediterranean climate and a 10-kilometer coastline, creating a unique geophysical environment.

The beach was founded by fishermen after 1922. Due to its excellent geographical location, it quickly became a popular tourist destination with many hotels and holiday apartments, beach bars offering water sports activities, traditional Greek tavernas, and local shops for visitors who not only want to relax during their summer holidays but also experience the local spirit.

The beach is just a few minutes away from Katerini, the capital of Pieria, a lively city with many shops, as well as numerous modern cafes, bars, and restaurants to cater to all needs. The locals are always happy to assist with anything you need and make your experience even more enjoyable.

Just 15 minutes by car from the beach, you can visit Litochoro, located at the foot of Mount Olympus, the highest mountain in Greece (peak Mytikas / 2,917 meters in height). Olympus is famous not only for its nature with rare and rich flora and fauna but also for Greek mythology, as it was the home of the 12 Olympian Gods, where Zeus decided to reside. A few kilometers away, you can visit the Archaeological Museum and the open-air Ancient Theatre of Dion, the "sacred place" of Ancient Macedonia, as well as the starting point where Alexander the Great gathered his armies before beginning his western conquests.

If you want to explore a bit more of Pieria, without hesitation, visit Plato's Castle, the traditional old village of Panteleimonas, which is a UNESCO-protected settlement, the ancient Livithra (the home of Orpheus in Greek mythology), Ancient Pydna, the most important site in Pieria during the ancient and Macedonian years of Alexander the Great, as well as Elatohori, where the famous Elatohori Ski Resort operates during the winter months in the Pieria Mountains.
